OPDC will host four town hall forums in 2017 to provide information about our programs, increase outreach to and solicit input from community members. These forums are your opportunity to meet our staff and board members, ask questions about how we deliver services to the neighborhood, and learn about specific topics relevant to our work. This is not “just another meeting”—we want to engage residents on timely topics of concern while encouraging fellowship and relationship-building among residents we serve in all of Oakland’s neighborhoods. Refreshments will be served.
The first town hall is on March 22. The theme will be the Top 10 Things to Know about Development in Oakland. As a neighborhood that’s home to several of the region’s largest education and medical institutions, we have a role in providing input to institutions like Pitt and UPMC each time they update their master plans. With Pitt’s master plan up for renewal soon, now is the time to brush up on how OPDC and Oakland residents play a part in this and other development projects in the community.
