Oakland Winter Blitz this Sunday, December 4th!

Help Oakland homes become more energy efficient for the winter and join the city initiative “Black and Gold City goes Green”.  The goal is to get city homes energy saving tools – such as energy efficient light bulbs – for use in their home.  These small changes will keep energy costs down as well as help the environment!

Your Ideas for Oakland Unveiled this Week!

The results for Oakland are in! There are two big opportunities this week for you to see how your contribution to the community planning process has paid off:

  • Stop by the Oakland 2025 Open House, going on today, November 14th through Thursday, November 17th, from 10am-4pm at 3710 Fifth Avenue to see the ideas generated from your input! The consultant team will be there to answer your questions and record any additional comments or suggestions you may have.
  • Join us on Thursday, November 17th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 419 South Dithridge Street for dinner and a presentation of the first draft of Oakland 2025 recommendations. The event is from 6pm-8:30pm and includes free dinner, transportation and childcare! Contact 412.621.7863 ext. 17 or tarat@opdc.org for more information.

The Oakland 2025 consulting team will be hosting public workshops with maps, markers and all kinds of other goodies to help facilitate more in-depth conversations on the topics you have identified as most important to Oakland’s future!

All workshops are from 5:30pm-8:30pm and include free dinner. The schedule and locations are:
