Position title: Site Caretaker
Reports to: Property Manager
Position goal: Maintain OPDC’s office and rental properties to ensure cleanliness, safety, and a positive public perception.
Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (OPDC) is a community-based organization in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood with a 38-year history of serving the community. OPDC builds a better Oakland through job placement services, neighborhood preservation and investment programs, resident volunteer efforts, community engagement, and affordable housing. Site Caretaker will maintain the common spaces and exteriors of 2520 Wadsworth and Allequippa Place in West Oakland. Caretaker may occasionally support other OPDC properties within the Oakland neighborhood.
Regular custodial work
Seasonal snow removal and landscaping work
Clean rental units for turnover
Assist with light maintenance, including changing light bulbs and smoke detector batteries, pest inspections, and assisting the maintenance technician as needed
Keep property interiors and exteriors free of trash
Inspect rental units
Track and maintain tools and supplies
Other duties as assigned
Caretaker must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
Caretaker must provide a cellular phone to assist in the completion of scheduled tasks
OPDC will provide the tools and supplies needed to complete the required tasks. Job hours are flexible and may consist of daytime, evening, and weekend work. This job is labor intensive and takes place inside and outdoors.
The Caretaker position is a Regular Part-time Employee of Oakland Planning and Development Corporation. The Caretaker will be paid $17 per hour and is expected to work about 12 hours per week, but not more than 30 hours per week.
