Let's Talk: Renter's resources, rights and pizza (in person)

Our next Let's Talk is a bit of a departure from our usual format! Every August, Oakland welcomes students who are living off campus and on their own for the first time, so OPDC's summer student interns are planning a back-to-school event all about renters' resources.

Come learn about how to read and understand a lease, what kinds of legal rights and responsibilities tenants and landlords have, and help us explore opportunities to advocate for affordable housing and better living conditions both here and across the city.

The event will feature tabling from community organizations:

  • Neighborhood Legal Services

  • Keith Portugal, City Planning - Pittsburgh

  • Pitt Renters' First Committee

  • Complete Streets at Pitt

  • Pitt's Office of Off-Campus Student Services

  • Pitt Engagement and Community Affairs

August’s meeting is in person at OPDC’s offices at 294 Semple Street and pizza & pop will be served!

About Let’s Talk:

Let’s Talk meetings are interactive, resident-focused discussions featuring a monthly theme, presentations from community partners and usually take place on the third Wednesday of each month, but for this month only, the meeting will be held on the fourth Wednesday.
