Carnegie Mellon University Master Plan

Developer: Carnegie Mellon University

Project summary: CMU is updating their Institutional Master Plan to include recent project additions such as the reconstruction of Scaife Hall. While the original IMP was approved by the City in 2012, there is no timeline yet for when the amendment to their IMP will be completed. A presentation on the amendment and three proposed housing projects was presented at an Oakland-Wide Community Meeting on April, 23 2019.

University of Pittsburgh Master Plan

Developer: University of Pittsburgh

Project summary: Pitt hired a team of consultants to complete a campus master plan, which will be the basis for the institutional master plan required by the City of Pittsburgh zoning code. Pitt hosted a meeting Oct. 9 and solicited feedback on their general plan, which can be found here: https://www.campusplan.pitt.edu. Pitt held a community meeting for the draft IMP and Scaife Hall Addition on Monday, February 11th and a follow-up meeting on March 12th. OPDC will inform residents when they plan to hold their next public meeting.

Carlow University Master Plan

Developer: Carlow University

Project summary: On 10/24/17, City Planning Commission issued a continuance for the Carlow IMP. Since that time, OPDC learned that Carlow was completing a revised traffic analysis and made other revisions discussed at a community meeting held 3/1/18. OPDC does not have additional information about the IMP moving forward. Carlow issued a RFQ for developers in early August 2018 for a potential partnership opportunity for Lot A on their campus.
