The Gupta family, like countless other Oakland residents, found Oakland an ideal location—close to work, accessible by public transit, and abounding with cultural amenities.
After renting in the neighborhood for several years, the Gupta family decided to put down roots in Oakland and began looking to purchase a home where they could raise their family.
However, after months of searching, they were unable to find an affordable, move-in ready, single-family home in the neighborhood—until they were introduced to OPDC.
The Gupta family purchased a South Oakland home from OPDC this past spring and are now thrilled to be Oakland homeowners.
“We love Oakland. It’s a beautiful place to raise a family,” Manav Gupta says.
