I’m Dolores Frisco and Oakland has been my home for over 60 years. My late husband and I raised our beautiful children here and found an extended family in our neighbors. I cherish the memories I’ve made and am proud to be an Oakland homeowner.
I live on a fixed-income, and as I’ve gotten older, it’s become more difficult to keep up with home maintenance. I have no intention of moving away from my community, but dealing with costly home repairs is stressful.
I applied for financial assistance through OPDC’s Oakland residential facade grant program to be able to make critical home repairs. Now, I have peace of mind knowing that I can stay in my home for years to come.
OPDC helped me through the entire process, from filling out the application to working with a reliable contractor. We replaced an old window and weathered siding, which improved my home’s insulation. My neighbors tell me that the house looks great and makes our street feel welcoming.
