OPDC redeveloped Allequippa Place and built new construction at 2520 Wadsworth Street in 2019 to provide more affordable housing options in Oakland. Allequippa Place was one of the first low-income housing tax credit developments in Pennsylvania, and we’re proud to maintain its affordability for years to come. The building at 2520 Wadsworth Street includes six ADA accessible units and two units with hearing and visual aid accessible adaptions. For more information about the project, read the press release here.

The OAL project was recognized for a 2019 Social Equity in Design Award by AIA Pittsburgh. Congratulations to our team: Loysen + Kreuthmeier Architects, Sota Construction Services, Inc., Common Ground, Whitney Bailey Cox and Magnani, Fortier Engineering, Hornfeck Engineering. The PA Affordable Housing Management Association also awarded the development a Platinum Award for interior design.
